A Parent’s Story: Our 16-Year-Old Son With Autism

Our son is 16 years old, and we live in the United Kingdom. Our journey with regenerative cell therapy did not begin recently. Before coming to Stem Plus Clinic, our son had already undergone two courses of cell-based therapy in Ukraine, approximately 1.5–2 years apart. At that time, embryonic cells were used.
When we began considering a third course, we discussed the available options with our son’s treating doctor in the UK. Based on that consultation, we decided to explore a different type of cells for his next treatment.
We eventually chose Stem Plus Clinic in Sofia because the clinic offered the specific certified cell product we were looking for. Another important factor for our family was the opportunity to work with a team that included Ukrainian specialists. Having people who understood our previous treatment history and could communicate with us clearly made the whole process much easier.
Our son’s treatment took place in February 2026 and lasted four days. What we especially appreciated was that the support did not end when we left the clinic.
Dr. Nadiia Kiian prepared a detailed rehabilitation plan for our son, with recommendations for the next stage of his development and ongoing support. The coordination team also helped us identify appropriate specialists in the UK so that we could continue the recommended work after returning home.
For our family, this continuity was extremely important. We did not want the treatment in Sofia to be an isolated four-day experience. We wanted it to become part of a longer, structured plan, with specialists continuing to work with our son at home in the UK. That is the approach we are following now.
